About the Book

Love Is in the Hair is a raw, empowering reflection on life, creativity, and healing through the lens of Annie — a career creative and seasoned hairstylist who has built a life at the intersection of beauty and purpose. With vulnerability and wisdom, Annie invites readers behind the salon chair and into her world, where the personal meets the professional, and where finding one’s voice can be both a battle and a breakthrough. Love Is in the Hair lifts the curtain on the emotional labor and artistry within the beauty industry. It challenges outdated narratives, celebrates the power of community, and honors the sacred space that stylists and service providers hold every day. Through deeply personal stories and honest reflections, Annie empowers readers to embrace imperfection, speak their truth, and reclaim their path. Whether you’re a stylist, a creative, or someone searching for space to breathe and be seen, this book is a reminder: your story matters, your voice belongs, and your pain can be transformed into purpose. Annie’s message is clear — healing, creativity, and success aren’t separate pursuits; they’re beautifully intertwined.

About the Author

Annie Fisher is a writer, salon owner, and lifelong creative whose work is deeply rooted in resilience, empathy, and transformation. Born in Ohio and raised in Tucson, Arizona, Annie's early years were shaped by profound loss, including the sudden death of her father and the challenges of surviving abuse, teen motherhood, and family addiction. By the age of 22, she had two children, a divorce, and a fierce commitment to building a better life. A career stylist, Annie moved her family to Seattle, Washington in 2004, where she rebuilt her life, creativity, and faith. Today, she is a proud mother, devoted partner, survivor, and advocate. Her writing reflects her belief in healing, justice, and the beauty that can rise from broken places.
